一Business Cooperation Overview
As an information platform whose lifeblood is content neutrality, VisitCN holds an open yet cautious attitude toward business cooperation. We believe reasonable commercial cooperation can feed back into content construction and expand the reach of quality information, but it must never come at the cost of editorial independence. This page details what cooperations we accept, what we decline, how the cooperation process works, and what you gain and concede from cooperating.
Before starting, remember one sentence: at VisitCN, there is a red line between editorial and commercial content that cannot be crossed — no cooperation will affect the neutrality and factual accuracy of our knowledge base.
1.1 Our Cooperation Philosophy
We do not pursue "the more cooperations, the better" in scale, but "every cooperation withstands scrutiny." A cooperation conflicting with the platform's values, no matter how high the offer, we will decline. Because we know that once user trust collapses, no commercial gain can compensate.
1.1.1 Three Bottom Lines of Cooperation
- Bottom line one: no request to modify or delete objective facts and neutral evaluations.
- Bottom line two: commercial content must be clearly distinguished from and labeled against editorial content.
- Bottom line three: cooperation must not mislead users into thinking commercial content is an editorial recommendation.
1.1.2 How We View "Win-Win"
A true win-win is: the partner gains authentic, credible exposure; the user gains valuable information; the platform gains resources for sustainable operation. Any cooperation that "exchanges user cognitive misleading for short-term conversion" is outside our definition of win-win.
二Types of Cooperation We Accept
Currently VisitCN opens the following categories. As the platform evolves, the scope may adjust; please follow the latest version of this page.
2.1 Official Public-Interest Promotion Slots
For public institutions such as tourism bureaus at all levels and scenic-area managements, used to publish public-interest destination promotions, festival previews, and civic tips. Such content is labeled "official information," charging no fee that affects neutrality, or only a production cost covering fee.
2.1.1 Forms of Public-Interest Promotion
May include official tip bars on region pages, official attribution on festival features, and civic announcements on destination pages. We do not disguise them as user-generated or editorially recommended content.
2.1.2 Distinction Between Public and Commercial
Even for public-institution promotions, we insist on labeling the "official information" source, so users know it is the institution's stance, not the platform's. Transparency is respect for users.
2.2 Brand Cooperation (Clearly Labeled)
For compliant brands related to cultural tourism (accommodation, gear, local experiences, etc.), displayed in designated positions clearly marked as "partner" or "promotion." We do basic vetting of partner qualifications but do not endorse the partner's products or services.
2.2.1 Presentation of Brand Cooperation
Cooperative content appears in clear "promotion" areas with "sponsored/cooperation" wording, never mixed into editorial content streams such as scenic-area introductions or guides.
2.2.2 We Do Not Endorse Partners
Displaying partner information does not mean we approve their product quality. Disputes arising from partner services are the partner's own responsibility; the platform bears no joint liability (within the limits permitted by law).
2.3 Institution-Facing Data Services
Providing customized structured data exports and destination analysis reports for research institutions, universities, enterprises, etc. Such services are paid projects requiring a data-use agreement specifying purpose and desensitization requirements.
2.3.1 Boundaries of Data Services
The data we provide is structured organization of public information, containing no personal user privacy. Large-scale data reuse requires clear authorization scope and attribution.
2.3.2 Academic Discounts
For universities and non-profit research institutions for research purposes, we offer feasible fee reductions or free quotas on data services to support academic research on China's cultural tourism.
三Cooperations We Decline
To guard content neutrality, we uniformly decline the following cooperations without further explanation.
3.1 Soft Advertising and Disguised Ads
Any cooperation requiring embedding brands, links, or implicit recommendations in the knowledge base, scenic-area introductions, or guides is deemed soft advertising and declined. We will not let commercial information masquerade as "editorial content."
3.2 Deleting or Altering Objective Information
Cooperations that, in exchange for payment, require deleting or modifying objective negative information (such as a real safety-hazard tip for a scenic area) are directly declined. Facts do not change presentation because of money.
3.3 Exaggeration and False Promotion
Cooperations requiring us to use absolute terms, false data, or unverifiable "first"/"largest" claims are declined. We do not participate in any misleading.
3.4 Illegal or Non-Compliant Cooperation
Any cooperation involving fake tourism, illegal fundraising, pyramid selling, pornography, gambling, or any illegal content is immediately declined, and we reserve the right to report to authorities.
四Cooperation Process
We have a transparent cooperation process designed to protect both parties' rights and reduce communication costs.
4.1 Initial Contact
Send intent via the business cooperation email, subject "[Cooperation] + organization name + type." We give a preliminary response within 5 business days, stating whether to proceed to the next stage.
4.2 Qualification Review
Partners must provide business licenses or relevant qualifications (individual creators may provide identity proof and portfolio). We do a formal review, not promising approval.
4.3 Proposal and Quotation
After passing review, we provide a cooperation proposal and quotation (public-interest types may be free or cost-only). The proposal clarifies labeling method, position, duration, and labeling requirements.
4.4 Agreement Signing
Formal cooperation requires a written agreement clarifying both parties' rights and obligations, content-labeling norms, disclaimer clauses, and dispute-resolution methods. Oral agreements are not the basis for execution.
4.5 Execution and Review
Before launch, cooperative content undergoes internal compliance review to ensure clear labeling and no red-line crossing. After launch, periodic review; any violation leads to immediate takedown.
五What Partners Gain
Telling you candidly the value and boundaries of cooperation helps build long-term trust.
5.1 Authentic, Credible Exposure
VisitCN's users are mainly high-intent people who "seriously plan travel." Compared with broad traffic, this exposure is higher quality and healthier in conversion.
5.2 Association with Brand Trust
Associating with a neutral, rigorous platform helps partners convey a "reliable" brand impression. But this association is environmental, not a platform endorsement.
5.3 Data Feedback (within Compliance)
Within the agreed scope, we may provide partners with aggregated exposure and click data of cooperative content, containing no individual-level information.
六What Partners Concede
We are equally candid about cooperation's constraints.
6.1 Labeling Obligation
Partners must accept clear "promotion/cooperation" labeling and may not require hiding or weakening it.
6.2 Content Compliance Responsibility
Partners are responsible for the legality and authenticity of all content they provide (copy, images, links). Disputes arising from partner content are borne by the partner.
6.3 Audit Cooperation
Partners must cooperate with our compliance audit and explain or adjust questionable content. Refusing cooperation, we reserve the right to terminate.
七Boundaries of Affiliate and Distribution
Partners often ask whether they can distribute VisitCN content or join an affiliate. Our stance follows.
7.1 Authorized Content Reuse
With written authorization, partners may reuse platform structured data or original content within the agreed scope, must attribute source and authorization scope, and may not sublicense to third parties.
7.2 Boundary Between Free Data and Paid Services
VisitCN's station travel data (attractions, cities, regional information) is always free, open, and shareable; we never charge you for displaying or using it, nor embed tracking purchase links. Distinct from this, our human-delivered value-added services -- itinerary planning, travel consultation, and tailored research -- are paid items that may involve a previously disclosed service fee or commission. This is a reasonable part of our semi-commercial operation and does not affect the neutrality of free data.
八Special Cooperation with Local Tourism Institutions
We especially welcome public-interest cooperation with local tourism authorities, as it highly aligns with the platform's mission of "accurately disseminating destinations."
8.1 Official Data Direct Connect
Where conditions allow, we hope to integrate with local official data interfaces to keep opening hours and ticket prices as real-time as possible. Such cooperation is mainly public-interest.
8.2 Festival and Event Promotion
Local characteristic festivals and intangible-cultural-heritage events can be published via official promotion slots, helping niche destinations be seen by the world.
九Intellectual Property in Cooperation
9.1 Platform Content Ownership
VisitCN original content, data models, and visual designs are owned by the platform. Partners obtain only the usage right within the agreed scope, not ownership.
9.2 Partner Content Ownership
Copy, images, etc. provided by partners are owned by the partner or original rights holder. The platform uses them only within the agreed scope and period.
十Dispute Resolution and Termination
10.1 Dispute Resolution
Cooperation disputes are preferentially resolved by friendly negotiation; if unsuccessful, either party may file a lawsuit with the people's court having jurisdiction over the location of the operating entity (Mainland China), or per the dispute-resolution method agreed in the agreement.
10.2 Unilateral Termination Right
If a partner engages in illegal activity, serious breach, or behavior harming the platform's neutrality, the platform has the right to unilaterally terminate cooperation immediately and take down content without bearing breach liability.
十一Anti-Commercial-Bribery Statement
VisitCN strictly prohibits any form of commercial bribery. We do not accept any improper benefit transfer from partners or their staff. Any attempt to influence cooperation decisions via kickbacks or gifts will lead to immediate termination and possible reporting.
十二Preparation Checklist for Cooperation Application
To improve efficiency, before applying please prepare: organization/individual intro, cooperation type and intent, disclosable qualifications, expected time and budget range, content materials (if any). The more complete, the faster the evaluation.
十三What We Do Not Promise
- We do not promise specific sales or conversion from cooperative content.
- We do not promise biased exposure within the knowledge base.
- We do not promise any quality endorsement of partner products.
十四Cooperation Ethics and Social Responsibility
We believe business can be an extension of goodwill. A good cooperation should bring users closer to real information, not farther. This is VisitCN's expectation of all partners, and a requirement of ourselves.
十五Contact and Next Steps
For business cooperation, please contact via the business email (see the "Contact" page for the latest channels). Clearly state the cooperation type in the email so we can assign the right colleague. We look forward to partners who share our values, to explain China more clearly.
十六Supplementary Provisions
This page's cooperation policy may adjust with business and regulatory changes; major adjustments will be announced. The "accept/decline" statements here are the platform's current stance; the formally signed agreement prevails.
