Tianjin TV Tower: The City's Eye in the Clouds
Overview
Tianjin TV Tower, officially known as Tianjin Radio and Television Tower, is located in Hexi District, Tianjin, at the junction of Zishan Road and Jinyan Highway, south of Nie Gong Bridge, adjacent to Water Park. The tower is 415.2 meters high, making it the tallest tower in China upon completion and now the fourth tallest in Asia. It integrates radio and television broadcasting, tourism, dining, entertainment, and convention services, serving as an important urban infrastructure and tourist landmark in Tianjin.
The tower was completed and began broadcasting on October 1, 1991, with a total investment of approximately 180 million RMB. The structure uses a reinforced concrete tube-in-tube design with a parabolic shape, featuring a silver-gray main color and blue glass curtain walls, presenting a simple and modern appearance. The tower building is located between 248 and 278 meters, with 7 floors, including an observation hall, revolving restaurant, and open-air viewing platform.
As the highest point of Tianjin's skyline, the tower, along with the Hai River, Jinwan Square, and the Tianjin Eye, forms the visual symbols of modern Tianjin. It receives over one million visitors annually and is one of the must-visit urban attractions for tourists to Tianjin.
