Chengdu Happy Valley: A Landmark of Urban Entertainment in Southwest China
Overview
Chengdu Happy Valley is located at No. 16 Xihua Avenue, Jinniu District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It is the third Happy Valley theme park built by OCT Group after Shenzhen and Beijing. The park covers about 510,000 square meters with a total investment of over 2 billion RMB, officially opening on January 18, 2009. As one of the largest theme parks in Southwest China, Chengdu Happy Valley is centered on the concepts of "fashion, dynamism, joy, and fantasy," receiving over 3 million visitors annually. The park consists of nine themed areas: Sunshine Harbor, Happy Times, Caribbean Cyclone, Bashu Enchantment, Flying Island, Magic Castle, Overflight Mediterranean, and Happy Guangnian. It features over 100 rides, including the first double dragon roller coaster in Southwest China, the Pirate Ship, and other thrilling attractions, as well as family-friendly 4D cinemas and water parks. Chengdu Happy Valley is not just an amusement park; it integrates local Sichuan cultural elements. For example, the Bashu Enchantment area is themed around ancient Shu civilization, showcasing cultural symbols such as Sanxingdui and Jinsha Ruins through architecture, sculptures, and performances, creating a unique cultural landscape.
