Chengdu Tianfu Panda Tower - Overlooking the Chengdu Skyline from 339 Meters
Overview
Chengdu Tianfu Panda Tower, formerly known as Sichuan Radio and TV Tower, is located at No. 168 Mengzhuiwan Street, Chenghua District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Standing 339 meters tall, it is the tallest tower in western China and one of Chengdu's iconic landmarks. The tower was completed and put into use in 2006, and officially renamed "Tianfu Panda Tower" in 2013 to highlight Chengdu's image as the "City of Pandas." The tower integrates multiple functions including radio and television signal transmission, urban sightseeing, dining and entertainment, and cultural exhibitions. It is the preferred destination for both locals and tourists to ascend for a panoramic view of the city. High-speed elevators take only 40 seconds to reach the 218-meter observation deck, offering a 360-degree view of the Chengdu Plain. The tower's base is surrounded by the commercial complex "Chengdu 339," forming an urban leisure business circle centered on the tower. As the highest point of Chengdu's skyline, Tianfu Panda Tower not only serves the practical function of broadcasting, but also has become an important window showcasing Chengdu's modern appearance and panda culture.
